I met Lesley at the Moreton Show 2022; due to the stunning examples shown at the time, I gave Lesley a commission to draw Luna & Neville, my two Labradors. I supplied images online of each dog with Lesley's guidance. The entire process, including updates along the way, was so simple. By November, I picked up the finished product, which was expertly triple mounted, with the unbelievable likeness of both dogs, which was a Christmas present from my mother; she is still smiling. Great job Lesley.

“We met Lesley at a country fair and were immediately taken back by the quality of her work. I contacted Lesley shortly afterwards about doing a piece for my wife’s 40th. After going back and forth with thoughts and ideas we settled on a photograph that Lesley was able to doctor slightly for the best effect.

To say my wife was overjoyed is an understatement. The quality is second to none and it looks so real. The drawing has pride of place and we couldn’t be happier.”

Emma is the fourth commission we've had created by Lesley. Each one has accurately captured the character and personality of each of my dogs. Lesley has a keen eye for detail, advising on the best composition and photos to use in producing high quality works of art. I cannot recommend Lesley highly enough, and the works she has produced for us are very fitting memorials to our beloved pooches, both past and present.

Humphrey looks wonderful. Kate was overjoyed by the portrait. It was such a classical expression he had and you caught it brilliantly.

Lynsey absolutely loves your drawing of Tiger. We have just taken him to have it framed. He was instantly recognisable to all of us - you really captured his personality. Lynsey rode him for 20 years, since she was 5 years old so he meant a lot to her and he lived to a good old age. You have a great talent.

Many Thanks

Tom

My partner Kim and I breed Warm Blood horses, Kim competes our horses in hunter trials, show jumping and dressage. We follow horse racing and have stakes in a racing syndicate with two flat racers. We really appreciate a fine handsome looking horse.

We own two smashing ex-race horses one of whom is approaching the grand old age of twenty. Whilst we have numerous photos and race videos we had always wanted to capture a good Artist's impression of our Angus aka Needwood Legend.

We must have seen a thousand artists show stands at equestrian and country shows and although some were good many were hardly deserving of the fridge magnet!

At the Bath and West we browsed through some work by Lesley Wihl. It was immediately obvious that Lesley understands horses, her drawings were wonderful. A week or two later we commissioned Lesley to produce an image of Angus.

Lesley visited our yard and spent the best part of a day with Angus really getting to know him, photographing and sketching him. Some weeks later I was invited to see her work. Honestly I was preparing myself to say "thats not him", to be dissatisfied even! I need not have worried Angus looked just like him, his eyes, perfect, the portrait showing his warmth and mischief! The whole thing caught him better than any photo ever could and its ours to frame and keep for ever!

Top notch, thank you Lesley.

A while ago I came across Lesley Wihl displaying her work, I was so impressed I commissioned Lesley to do sketches of our two black Labradors together.

After corresponding by email many times and numerous photos, when we saw the final sketch the likeness was amazing, Lesley had captured the character of the dogs spot on. This is even more poignant since we have now lost both of 'the boys'.

Lesley is a very warm person with an amazing talent.

I contacted Lesley after seeing her work at a local agricultural show, I was thinking of a study of my wife's horse, to give her as a surprise Christmas present. Lesley's work seemed to be just what I was looking for, so after contacting Lesley, I emailed her a few photographs of the horse, which she said were suitable. Lesley then prepared the portrait over the next few weeks and without my wife knowing, we arranged for me to see the finished work, which I was very pleased with.

My wife, on receiving the portrait, was thrilled with the result, which, after being put in a suitable frame, has pride of place in our living room.

I would thoroughly recommend Lesley's work to anyone.
